There's no place like home
Having home insurance means you won’t be left out of pocket if you ever need to repair your home or replace your belongings after they’ve been damaged, stolen or destroyed.
There are two main types of home insurance: buildings insurance (cover against damage to the property itself) and contents insurance (for damaged or stolen items within the home). These can be combined in one policy or purchased separately, depending on what sort of cover you require. The first step is choosing which option is best suited for you.
Having a good home insurance policy in place will give you peace of mind, knowing that should anything unfortunate happen in your home there will be no large up-front bills to pay.
We offer our insurance recommendations and products from a choice of insurers.
What's covered:
Damage to your property
Our insurers could protect you from any damage caused to your property or possessions from events such as fire, theft, subsidence or flooding.
Accidental damage
If you're clumsy by nature or don't trust the others around you, you could bolster your protection with accidental damage. That wine on the carpet doesn't sound so bad, after all
Alternative accommodation
Our insurers could pay for accommodation if your home isn't in a liveable condition. If you're a landlord or landlords insurance policies could cover you for any lost rent whilst the property is uninhabitable.

Because we play by the book we want to tell you that…
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
There may be a fee for mortgage advice. The actual amount you pay will depend upon your circumstances.
The fee is up to 1%, but a typical fee is 0.3% of the amount borrowed.
